Otto is a lawyer and former member of the Canadian Parliament. He is a member of the Soft White 60 Advisory Board specializing in utility regulation, law, and energy policy.
The Honourable Otto Lang has over 40 years of experience in the energy, law, and political sectors. He holds numerous degrees and distinctions, including bachelors of arts and laws degrees for the University of Saskatchewan, and a bachelor of civil laws from Oxford University where he graduated as a Rhodes Scholar. Otto has been appointed to the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, the Queen's Council, and admitted as an Officer of the Order of Canada. Mr. Lang's prestigious career has encompassed various roles, including Professor and Dean of the Saskatchewan College of Law along with Canadian Cabinet Minister, responsible for the ministries of Transport, Justice, and Energy and Water - during which time he was responsible for Atomic Energy of Canada and the Canadian National Energy Board. Mr. Lang has held senior executive positions in various organizations, including Centra Gas where he served as President and CEO from 1993 through to 1999 and oversaw the transfer of Manitoba's natural gas utility to Manitoba Hydro.
